Apple may wish to bite Samsung’s ankles and break the cooperation with it in delivering display devices for mobile devices and Macs. The company has shown a whole new panel for notebooks, where Retina presents itself very poorly.
The new panel has a 13.3-inch display and a resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels, at a density of 276 pixels per inch. For comparison, the MacBook with Retina offers a much lower resolution, at a mere 227 PPI. In addition, the new Samsung panel also left behind the Pixel Chrome screen, which has a 239 PPI value.
The new Samsung panel provides not only a better picture, but it is also very economical as its power consumption is 30 percent lower than that of today’s LCD screens. So far it is not known yet when the modern panel will hit the new ultrabooks.
